Htauk Kyant War Cemetery, the Allies War Memorial Cemetery is located 32 km from Yangon, on the road to Bago, Mingaladon Township, Yangon. It is a cemetery for Allied soldiers from the British Commonwealth who died in battle in Burma during the World War II. There are three Allied War Memorial Cemeteries in Myanmar such as Htauk Kyant, Thanbyuzayat and Yangon. Hauk Kyant War Cemetery is the largest of the three war cemeteries in Myanmar and was established in 1951. The graves of 6,374 soldiers who died in the World War II, the graves of 52 soldiers who died in Burma during the World War I. The remains of Commonwealth soldiers who died in Meiktila, Thayetmyo, Sittwe, Mandalay and Maymyo were transferred here and the graves are grouped together by these battles. Among the gravestones is the columned Rangoon Memorial bearing almost 27,000 names of Commonwealth soldiers are from Nigeria, Australia, South Africa, India and the United Kingdom. It is peaceful and decorated with flowers and palm trees grow along lawns which are intersected with white stone pavements. Now, everyone who can visit it from 9 am to 5 pm.
မဟာမိတ်စစ်သင်္ချိုင်းတစ်ခုဖြစ်သောထောက်ကြံ့စစ်သင်္ချိုင်းသည်ရန်ကုန်မြို့နှင့်၃၂ကီလိုမီတာအကွာအဝေး၊ ပဲခူးကားလမ်းမပေါ်၊ မင်္ဂလာဒုံမြို့နယ်၊ ရန်ကုန်မြို့တွင်တည်ရှိပါသည်။ဒုတိယကမ္ဘာစစ်အတွင်းမြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင်ကျဆုံးသွားခဲ့သောဗြိတိသျှမဟာမိတ်စစ်သားများ၏သင်္ချိုင်းတစ်ခုဖြစ်ပါသည်။ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင်ထောက် ကြံ့၊ သဖြူဇရပ်နှင့်ရန်ကုန်တွင်ရှိသောမဟာမိတ်စစ်သင်္ချိုင်းများတွင်ထောက် ကြံ့စစ်သင်္ချိုင်းသည်အကြီးဆုံးဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ၁၉၅၁ခုနှစ်တွင်စတင်တည်ဆောက်ခဲ့ပါသည်။ ဒုတိယကမ္ဘာစစ်တွင်သေဆုံးခဲ့သောစစ်သားပေါင်း (၆၃၇၄ဦး) ၏အုတ်ဂူများ၊ပထမကမ္ဘာစစ်အတွင်းမြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင်သေဆုံးခဲ့သောစစ်သားပေါင်း(၅၂ဦး)၏အုတ်ဂူများပါဝင်ပါသည်။ ကျန်ရှိနေသောမဟာမိတ်စစ်သားများမှာမိတ္ထီလာ၊ သရက်မြို့၊စစ်တွေ၊မန္တလေးနှင့်မေမြို့တို့တွင်ကျဆုံးသွားသောစစ်သားများကိုထောက် ကြံ့စစ်သင်္ချိုင်းသို့ရွှေ့ပြောင်းကာအုတ်ဂူများကိုတူတကွထားရှိခဲ့ပါသည်။ စုစုပေါင်း(၂၇၀၀၀)နီးပါးသောမဟာမိတ်စစ်သားများ၏အမည်များမှကျောက်တိုင်ပေါ်တွင်ကမ္ဗည်ထိုးထားသောစစ်သားများမှာနိုက်ဂျီးရီးယား၊သြစတေးလျ၊တောင်အာဖရိက၊ အိန္ဒိယနှင့်ဗြိတိသျှနိုင်ငံသားများပါဝင်ပါသည်။တိတ်ဆိတ်ငြိမ်သက်ပြီးပန်းပင်များ၊ ထန်းပင်များနှင့်ကမ္ဗည်းကျောက်ပြားများတလျောက်တွင်မြက်ခင်းများစိုက်ပြီးအလှဆင်ထားပါသည်။ ယခုအခါမနက် (၉) နာရီမှညနေ (၅) နာရီထိမည်သူမလိုသွားရောက်လည်ပတ်နိုင်ပါသည်။
